DRIVER MARVELL 88W8335 WINDOWS 7 DRIVERS
I believe that this has some chance of working because a friend who uses Win XP and bought this same card told me that it worked on Windows without using the manufacturers drivers (in other words, a driver that works is provided in Windows itself).Īs a last resort, in case I cannot find a 64-bit driver, the following options would remain: In the 32-bit versions I have, the filenames are "mrv8000c.inf" and "mrv8000c.sys".
DRIVER MARVELL 88W8335 WINDOWS 7 64 BIT
In fact, what I'm trying to do right now is to look after someone who has Win 64 system to see if this driver (or someother that would work with this card) would come with it in a 64 bit native version. However, I did not manage to find a 64-bit Windows driver for my card yet. This near-what-I-want driver is provided by Asus (in fact, I tried it with ndiswrapper, just in case!): Somewhere on the internet I found a discussion board where people managed to get things working with ndiswrapper for a Marvell card (different from mine! ) this way. One possibility here would be to find a version of this driver that works natively with Windows 64 (and thus would be 64 bit). Which, according to the ndiswrapper faq, means those drivers won't work with a 64-bit system. Ndiswrapper version 1.9 loaded(preempt=no, smp=no)ĭsiswrapper (check_nt_hdr:149): Windows driver is not 64-bit bad magic: 010Bĭsiswrapper (load_sys_files:217): couldn't prepare driver 'mrv8000c'ĭsiswrapper (load_wrap_driver:111): loadndiswrapper failed (65280). To do so, I've tried ndiswrapper with the drivers provided by the manufacturer. This card does not seens to be supported by the kernel directly (if I'm wrong about this, please tell me!), so we have to try to use the Windows drivers. I'm running a 64-bit linux system, and that seens to be the main difficult here. On the box we have: Encore Wireless-G PCI Adapeter - ENLWI-GĠ0:0e.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Any ideias you could provide me with would be greatly appreciated. I'll post here what I've tried, and what I think that maybe could solve the issue. I've already tried the most common solutions, without good results. I'm trying to make my new wireless card work in Gentoo.
